After living in Cleveland for a few years, I got the revelation of the amazing things that Cleveland has to offer. After hearing friends and total strangers speak of Cleveland's past and their hope's for its future, it made me question its present. What about Cleveland's beautiful architectural structures? How about all of the venue options we have to attend great events? Or, a culture that is so rich, you can find cuisine by nearly any nationality? These are all in the present. We all can take advantage of the sites, sounds, and tastes Cleveland has at this present time.
There is no doubt in my mind that there is a large population of people who work, play, and/or live in the city who feel the same. However, it will take every citizen to realize the gem and appreciate it, before mainstream media and America can embrace it. How can we expect others to love the city and eagerly visit if the citizens do not? Or, when a visitor asks where is the best place for such and such- a resident has not a clue. I know there is the young, in-the-know, crowd of people who play in the local districts. I have heard those who live in the downtown area speak of its splendor. But, do those in the suburbs know this? Do those who live in the historic neighborhoods, actually know they are historic?
